The Development team is looking for a studious and enthusiastic FULL STACK DEVELOPER. Developers who are either at the start of their career or the more experienced ones, are most welcome to apply for this position.

Job description

The Development team applies the Agile work method and has, for now, the mid and long term, a variety of projects lined up. These projects involve developing various Portals (front- and back-end), “building bridges” between AFAS and various other applications such as Exact, creating workflow portals for expats, implementing internal automation requests, etc. The developer will be part of a dynamic team, where you’ll be guided step-by-step in our work, until you are a full member of the team and can work independently. Constantly being aware of who the customer is and what their requirements are, is of great importance to the developer. Otherwise, there is an increased chance of our development capacity being wasted. We try to identify and eliminate the amount of ‘waste’. This is not always possible, but we do our best.

An average workday starts with a stand-up. The current sprint originates from the backlog and consists of tasks and activities screened and placed there by the product owner. When assigning tasks, personal preferences are taken into account. Still, we would like to stimulate you handling tasks outside of your comfort-zone, to increase your knowledge and experience. Going live brings quite a few tense moments, as well as the moment when you decide that you have to roll back a version because an issue occurs. However, we work in a controlled manner and bear the responsibilities as a team.

Responsibilities

N

Devise algorithms for processes from where data has to be extracted, which enables files to be stored, etc;

N

Fixing bugs, as well as the bugs which are most “elusive” at times. Such bugs could be caused by an issue in one of the libraries. It is important that you’ll then investigate the issue (root-cause-analysis). A bug that is assigned to you, will be your responsibility to solve/fix. However, if you are unable to figure it out, then we’ll “make it a group effort”;

N

Documenting will be an essential part of your work. We use Confluence for documentation and Jira for assigning tasks.

Requirements

N

Master/Bachelor degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent;

N

Knowledge of: PhP/Laravel 7+, Angular 8+, Javascript, HTML and CSS;

N

Experience with Azure and finding solutions, including Docker;

N

Applying code repositories, such as Github or Bitbucket;

N

Being passionate in what you do, having an eye for detail and eager to learn, are key-competencies of your personality;

N

A team player, who is capable of working autonomously as well. Someone who is easy to work with and has great communicative and consultancy skills;

N

Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English and already proficient in Dutch will be important assets;

N

Someone who fits our core values:

    • Enthusiastic: We are driven/passionate in what we do, this reflects in our energetic and powerful approach, for ourselves and our relations.
    • Reliable: Not only we meet our agreements, we handle sensitive information discretely and confidentially as well.
    • Involved: We are supportive and can rely on each other, which translates to a strong base. Not only within our team, we are customer-oriented as well.
    • Flexible: We are approachable, think in solutions and are open for change and new possibilities.
