Location:                           Amsterdam, as well as on location at clients throughout The Netherlands.

Fulltime:                            40 hours per week. In consultation it is possible to work parttime.


TOSS provides more than just payroll. TOSS renders (international) payroll umbrella services, expats visa application assistance, employer administration support, and international recruitment services and consultancy.

Job description

Payroll administration and everything related, is the domain of the Payroll Consultant. The accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing is and remains the most important priority of a Payroll Consultant. Without you, our customers’ employees won’t get their payment! Keeping an overview and having insight into the work process within the payroll administration, with its visible but sometimes also unexpected bottlenecks/points of attention and peak moments, is something that you as an experienced Payroll Consultant “don’t turn your back on”, and as an associate Payroll Consultant of course will have to learn.

Legislation and regulations in the field of employment/labour law are subject to significant change; especially the last few years. Therefore, it is not surprising customers often come to a Payroll Consultant with the question: “how does that work?” or “could you refresh my memory?”, varying from collective labour agreement issues, employment contracts, lease cars, work costs scheme, health insurance scheme and so on. In this case it is important that the Payroll Consultant does not hesitate to give unsolicited advice on this matter, because again, these kinds of things change quickly.

It should be clear that a Payroll Consultant at TOSS always represents our company towards a client. It goes without saying that we set high standards for such a “business card”.

What to expect?


Each month, on or around the 24th, our customers’ payroll is processed and completed down to the last detail and the salaries of the customers’ employees can be paid the following day;


Excellent knowledge in both payroll and employment/labour law is crucial for fulfilling the Subject Matter Expert role for both the employees at our customers and our colleagues at TOSS; you are able to do so, solicited and unsolicited;


Monitoring and updating legislation and regulations on time is a crucial responsibility, because otherwise you will be working with incorrect information;


An “invisible” part of the payroll administration for many, but just as important is to ensure that payroll tax returns, pension fund returns and all registrations and deregistration with various authorities are done promptly.

Qualifications, you need to have


Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics or a relevant combination of an MBO4 education and work experience supplemented with a Practical Diploma in Payroll Administration (PDL) or Vocational Training Payroll Services (VPS);


Experience with AFAS HRM/Payroll or equivalent payroll administration software is an advantage;


Being passionate in what you do, accurate and eager to learn, are key-competencies of your personality;


Stress resistant, flexible, able to handle tight deadlines, well organised;


A team player, who is capable of working autonomously as well. Someone who is easy to work with and has great communicative and consultancy skills;


Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English and already proficient in Dutch will be important assets;


In the possession of driver’s licence B;
